SUGAR-FREE TERIYAKI CHICKEN MARINADE

Do you avoid the teriyaki marinades in the store because of all the high fructose sugars and questionable ingredients (and LOTS of them!)? Maybe you’ve checked your recipe book to find all the recipes are still laden with sugar of some sort. I have an incredible recipe that the whole family will beg to have, again & again, without any sugar added.

 

This is most flavorful when you use boneless skinless thighs. These pieces are thin and will grab flavor in as little as 2 hours 👍🏼 However, you can use any cuts of chicken (drumsticks, wings, breasts). Marinate up to 24 hrs. for thick breast or less when cut into small pieces or cubes.

BBQ and top with scallions and sesame seeds.

 

SUGAR-FREE TERIYAKI CHICKEN MARINADE


Ingredients:

8 boneless thighs or approx. 2 lbs. of chicken
1/2 C. Soy Sauce, Amino Acids or Coconut Aminos
3 Tb. Mustard
4 Garlic Cloves Crushed
2 tsp. Ground Ginger Powder or chopped fresh Ginger
2 Smidgen scoops or 1/16 ts. Stevia Select Powder
1/2 - 2 ts. Red Pepper Flakes *depending on heat preference
*optional toppings for garnish
2 ts. Sesame seeds  
1 scallion chopped 

Mix all ingredients in a strong plastic bag or container for marinating in. Add chicken to marinade for up to 24 hrs.

 

Leftovers are excellent for a stir-fry or teriyaki sandwich with low carb bread. Plan on doubling this recipe if you want any left 😉
